Delivery Drivers’ Policy

DELIVERY DRIVERS’ COMPLIANCE POLICY   

The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 Ss 108 & 113

&

The Alcohol etc.  (Scotland) Act  2010 section 6

No person employed  as a delivery driver engaged in the delivery of alcohol shall be under the age of 18.

No delivery driver  shall deliver alcohol  to any individual whom they believe to be drunk or whom they believe to be under the age of 25 or to any person attempting to accept delivery of  alcohol for a person whom they believe to be under the age of 25  UNLESS

The delivery driver  has  requested, seen, and accepted photographic proof of age  of the person they believe to be under 25  in the form of

  1. Current Photo driving licence
  2. Current Passport
  3. Current Young Scot, Citizen  or other acceptable “PASS” logo Card.
  4. EU ID CARD
  5. MOD ID CARD
  6. BIOMETRIC RESIDENCY PERMIT

If delivery drivers are not sure they can comply with the the law they must return to base with the order.

ALL EMPLOYEES UNDERSTAND THAT FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THIS POLICY WILL PUT AT RISK THEIR JOBS; THE JOBS OF THEIR COLLEAGUES & THE BUSINESS OF THEIR EMPLOYER. THEY FURTHER UNDERSTAND THAT ANY SUCH FAILURE MAY BE DEEMED GROSS MISCONDUCT UNDER THE TERMS OF THEIR  CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT AND MAY  LEAD TO INSTANT DISMISSAL AND CRIMINAL   PROSECUTION.

A FINE OF £5000.00 and/or 3 MONTHS IN PRISON
